چکیده
Abstract Narrowband UVB (NBUVB) is a recommended second-line treatment for moderate-to-severe atopic eczema unresponsive to adequate topical therapy, and known induce good short-term improvement of severity (Reynolds NJ, Franklin V, Gray JC et al. NBUVB broad-band ultraviolet A phototherapy in adult eczema: randomised controlled trial. Lancet 2001; 357:2012–16). However, it unclear how patients fare with their long after completion course NBUVB. We aimed investigate the adults, 1 year following NBUVB, using validated clinical activity measures. hypothesized that, year, would remain better than at baseline (prior having NBUVB). undertook multicentre prospective observational study adults (as per Hanifin Rajka criteria) prescribed as part standard care. Narrow-band ultraviolet B and broad-band ultraviolet A phototherapy in adult atopic eczema: a randomised controlled trial.
BACKGROUND Narrow-band ultraviolet B (UVB) is an effective treatment for psoriasis, and open studies suggest that this phototherapy might improve atopic eczema. We did a randomised controlled trial to compare narrow-band UVB, UVA, and visible light phototherapy as second-line, adjunctive treatments in adult patients with moderate to severe atopic eczema. METHODS Phototherapy was administered ...
متن کاملNarrowband ultraviolet B phototherapy and 308-nm excimer laser in the treatment of vitiligo: a review.
Vitiligo is a common and chronic disease with a great impact on patients' quality of life. Phototherapy with narrowband ultraviolet B radiation and excimer laser are two treatment modalities that are used increasingly for the management of the disease with variable results. In this article, we review the efficacy, adverse effects, and possible mechanisms of action of narrowband ultraviolet B an...

OBJECTIVE To examine whether narrowband ultraviolet B (NBUVB) phototherapy administration to plaque-type psoriatic patients leads to an improvement in patient's quality of life (QoL). METHODS A total of 95 patients with plaque-type psoriasis were recruited in the Outpatient Dermatology Clinics of Qassim University affiliated hospitals, Buraydah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from January to October...
متن کاملTargeted broadband ultraviolet b phototherapy produces similar responses to targeted narrowband ultraviolet B phototherapy for vitiligo: a randomized, double-blind study.
UNLABELLED Narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy, with a 308-nm xenon chloride excimer laser, and targeted UVB phototherapy have produced encouraging therapeutic results for vitiligo. However, very few studies employing broadband UVB exist. Moreover, there has been no direct comparison study between broadband UVB and NB-UVB for the treatment of vitiligo. The aims of this study were to ...
